Gene Design

To help solve the issues related to codon bias, the wild-type DNA sequence may be re-defined through codon changes using the appropriate usage frequency table for the host organism: that’s codon optimization.

This general approach has been verified to significantly improve heterologous protein expression in numerous cases. In addition to optimizing codon distribution, re-designed genes may be cleared of detrimental motives such as DNA repeats or mRNA secondary structures.

You may also wish to add tags for purification, or restriction sites, in frame multiple stop codons.
